Center Updates

Conveniently located in the Wellness Center at the intersection of Routes 100 and 103 (immediately off Exit 4 off 100).  We are right next to Kupcakes & Company.

A new book "The Perfect Score Project--Uncovering the Secrets of the SAT" by Debbie Stier has some very insightful commentary on Kumon (Chapter 14:  "Kumon Get'Em While They're Munchkins") by a parent seeking to help her child navigate the SAT testing world.

Congratulations to our Program Completer Saketh Sundar on winning the Howard County Library System's 2016 Spelling Bee!  Saketh has been a student at our Center, having been enrolled in both math and reading enrichment,  since June 2013 and is currently a 5th grader at Bellows Springs Elementary School!

Parents, Please remind your children to respect our facilities and refrain from any actions that can cause damage to our facilities  This would include not playing with pebbles outside the center that may result in glass damage, flushing pencils or other foreign objects down toilets causing water damage and plumbing expenses.  If your child is ill, please keep him/her at home so others will not become ill!

How to Enroll Your Child

Step 1
Call the center to book a free Parent Orientation and Placement Test for your child.
Step 2
Attend the Parent Orientation, and have your child take the placement test. Meet with your instructor to learn about Kumon’s individualized learning method, and review the results from your child’s placement test.
Step 3
Review your child’s progress goal plan. Based on your child’s placement test results, the instructor will create a one-year academic plan to help your child reach his or her goals.
Step 4
Enroll your child. Students will attend the center twice a week, and complete daily assignments at home. Your instructor will design an individualized lesson plan for your child that will be monitored, and changed as needed to be sure he or she is on track to reach his or her goals.
Step 5
Schedule your 30-day post-enrollment meeting. Your instructor will set a date to meet with your family after 30 days of enrollment to evaluate your child’s performance and ensure the program is going smoothly.
