About Your Instructor
Alexander Hooks
As a former Kumon student, I have personally experienced the long-term benefits of the Kumon Method. I completed most of the program and later worked at the same Kumon Center I attended during high school. I began as a student who struggled to stay focused, but through consistent practice and support, I advanced to studying math two years above grade level and taking college-level writing courses while still in high school.
The skills I developed through Kumon—organization, perseverance, focus, self-confidence, and independent learning—have been instrumental in shaping my academic and personal growth. Kumon played a critical role in helping me reach my potential, and I would not be where I am today without it.
My experience has inspired a deep commitment to education. I believe that while not every student starts from the same place, each one deserves the opportunity to improve continuously and develop a positive attitude toward learning. As an instructor, my goal is to provide students with the structure, encouragement, and tools they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
