About Your Instructor
Melissa Lee-Doan
Instructor and Owner Melissa Lee-Doan is a Houston native. She graduated from the University of Houston with B.B.A in Marketing and Finance, and a minor in International Studies. She also has a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She has worked for Fortune 500 companies and has a history in the oil and gas field. Before becoming a Kumon instructor, she was a dedicated learning event manager where she managed events and classes for top senior leaders.
Her children are the inspiration behind her Kumon journey. They are current Kumon students and as a mom she loved the impact Kumon had on her children. She could tell Kumon not only helped improve their grades, but it helped them gain confidence and independence in their studies and school work.
In 2020 during the height of the pandemic she truly saw the gift of Kumon. Her grade school age children were returning to Kinder and third grade, schools were meeting virtually, and there was not a given time frame when they would return to in person. While most kids struggled with virtually learning, her kids were still able to succeed all thanks to Kumon.
They are truly her inspiration.
