About Your Instructor

PHILLIP LIEU

Mr. Phillip holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Hawai‘i and is a licensed teacher. He has taught in local public schools and at Kapiolani Community College. In 2012, he founded the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Kapolei – West, where he serves as Center Director and Certified Instructor. As both a father and educator, he uses his experience to help students achieve through personalized lesson plans and daily practice, aiming to build confidence, academic excellence, and independence.

How Does the Assessment Work?

Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so we can recommend the best starting point. During the assessment, your child will complete a placement test, and the instructor will review the results with you and explain how the Kumon Program can support your child’s individual learning needs.
