About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Kirkwood. For more than 50 years, the Kumon after-school academic enrichment program has been helping children achieve success worldwide. Our Kumon Center strives for the same success, motivating all of our students to perform at their highest potential. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve more, a love of learning and the motivation to learn on their own.  We look forward to working with you and your child.

Policies

During Class
Single-subject students should allow for at least 20-30 minutes in the Center.
Double-subject students should allow for 40 minutes to 1 hour.

The Kumon classroom has to be a quiet study area so that everyone can concentrate. Brothers, sisters, and parents are asked to please stay in the waiting area. Please work quietly, and do not disturb the students.

Absences:
If you ever have to miss a class, the student’s work will be automatically placed outside of the back door in a weatherproof container. You may come at any time to retrieve the missed work. You can reach the box by driving around the back of the building and look for the black storage tub on the ground to the left of door 449.

Communicating with the Instructor:
During class hours, it is important for the Instructor to focus solely on the students and the running of class. For this reason, the Instructor will not be available to meet with parents during class unless a conference has been scheduled in advance.  Please contact Ann by phone during the day at 314-835-1316 or by e-mail at [email protected].  You can leave a message with Casey at the desk as well.
