About Your Instructor
Soo Yeon Kim
Originally a Kumon Parent at the Ladue Center, Suzy Kim is no stranger to this program. When she initially enrolled her first student at the Ladue Center with Dr. Dan Kimura (original owner), she never expected that she would one day be the owner of the first Kumon Center in the U.S. Midwest. Her fourth grader found his place at Kumon of Ladue, and by eighth grade was finishing Level L (12th Grade level of Math) and had aced High School mathematics. Her younger child also enrolled into the program as a first grader, and has found the curriculum to be a major benefit with any challenges he encounters from being on the spectrum.
Suzy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Graphic Design and is a proud mother of four children, all of whom have been Kumon students. She shares her life with her husband Mickey and their family, including their dog. Outside of her professional endeavors, Suzy enjoys exploring parks, walking with her family, cooking, and spending quality time during movie nights.
As a Kumon instructor, Suzy aligns with Kumon's vision: "We wish that all people in all countries and regions in the world will have the opportunity to learn with the Kumon Method, and that each individual in the world will be enthusiastically self-learning and making efforts toward realising his or her dreams and goals". Her approach emphasizes fostering self-learning, discipline, and academic excellence, helping students achieve their full potential and become confident, independent learners.
