Director at Kumon of Arlington Heights & Niles Centers
Dr. Bettuzzi, serving as the Center Director, brings a wealth of expertise to her role, holding a BS from Marquette University, a DPT degree from Rosalind Franklin University, SLANT Certified Reading Specialist, and a Structured Literacy Practitioner. She is a member of the International Dyslexia Association.
Dr. Bettuzzi’s journey with Kumon started over three decades ago, when she enrolled her learning disabled daughter into Kumon. She fell in love with the Kumon Methodology which provided the essential skills that unlocked her child’s potential. Given the dramatic success of her first child, Dr. Bettuzzi quickly enrolled her three other children and encouraged many others.
Inspired by her children’s successes and her expertise in neural training, Dr. Bettuzzi became a Kumon instructor over 22 years ago. Dr. Bettuzzi has fostered and mentored several employees and parents who became inspired to become Kumon Instructors.
Dr. Bettuzzi brings a deep understanding of local curricula and years of experience guiding students toward academic excellence. Many of her former students have gone on to attend top universities across the United States, often earning substantial academic scholarships as a result of their long-term work with her.
Aligned with Kumon’s philosophy that there is always more to learn, Dr. Bettuzzi embodies this belief through her own professional growth. Despite her extensive experience, she continues to attend major conferences, voluntary study groups, and international events to enhance her teaching and better support her students.
Her work is rooted in nurturing early learners—helping them build strong foundations in reading and math, smoothly transition into advanced content, and cultivate a love of learning. Through exposure to diverse genres and focused vocabulary development, her students gain the comprehension skills essential for academic success.
This consistent, long-term approach helps students excel in standardized assessments and prepares them for the challenges of middle school, high school, and beyond.
Outside Kumon, Dr. Bettuzzi pursues postgraduate training in multisensory learning, reading instruction, mathematics, and neural training—ensuring that students benefit from the most effective, research-based practices available.
Together with her husband, she has served families for over 20 years at three Kumon centers in Arlington Heights, Niles, and Park Ridge—helping students build strong academic foundations, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
