About Your Instructor
SIM PEYRON
Sim Peyron is an east bay local, and holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley. His wide-array of interests led him to pursue several careers before becoming a Kumon Instructor. After graduation, Sim's desire to teach himself a new language landed him in France where he spent four fruitful years. From building villas on the Riviera to expanding his culinary knowlege in the kitchens of Paris, his desire to learn new things allowed him to overcome many challenges. Back stateside, he became an architectual model maker, which satisfied his love of craft and design. Longing to cook again, and combined with his love of teaching, he took the position of director for a non-profit organization's program that promoted nutrition education as well as cooking lessons and demonstrations for children, new mothers, and patrons of bay area farmers' markets. Sim always attributed his ability to tackle obstacles and ability to learn independently from his early years as a Kumon student. His decision to open a Kumon center in North Oakland stems from his true belief in the method and his desire to pass this gift on to the children of his community.
