Roopa Palakkat
Roopa opened the Kumon of Odessa Center in February 2018 after observing the positive impact the Kumon Program had on her own children. Seeing how consistent practice helped them grow in confidence and develop stronger academic skills, she was inspired to bring those same benefits to other families in the community.
With a strong belief that every child has the potential to excel, Roopa is committed to helping students build a solid academic foundation through daily practice, perseverance, and individualized support. As a structured math and reading tutoring program different from regular tutoring, Kumon focuses on developing essential skills early—supporting school readiness for younger students and strengthening performance for school-age children.
Roopa understands that developing strong math and reading skills early on not only improves performance in school but also prepares children for important academic milestones, including school assessments and testing. For preschool-aged children, the program helps build focus, number and letter recognition, and early learning habits—supporting families looking for preschool readiness or a strong academic foundation alongside daycare or early learning environments.
Her primary goal is to help students become independent, self-motivated learners who take pride in their progress. She partners closely with parents to create a consistent and encouraging learning environment at home and at the Center, because she believes that collaboration and consistent effort are key to long-term success. She welcomes parental feedback and values open communication, as it strengthens the learning experience and helps ensure each child’s progress stays on track.
