KAY KO

Kay has been married to her husband since 1998 and has two children. Her daughter was a Veterans of Foreign Wars Penmanship Competition state finalist and graduated from the magnet program at Darrel Swope Middle School with President's Awards. She is currently attending Davidson Academy of Nevada. Her son recently graduated from the SWAS program at Caughlin Ranch Elementary School. He now attends Darrel Swop Middle School magnet program.
Kay received her M.S. degree in Accountancy from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a Certified Public Accountant. She received her M.S. degree in Accountancy from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Prior to joining Kumon, Kay worked as a CPA at regional accounting firms and Fortune 500 companies. During her professional career, she witnessed what levels of education were required to be successful in the real world.
Kay is deeply committed to her second career as a Kumon Instructor because she loves working with children. She believes that the Kumon Method equips children with not only mastery of math and reading, but self-confidence and valuable self-learning skills that will be advantageous/beneficial to them for the rest of their lives.
Kay is a Kumon parent, and found Kumon highly effective in improving her children’s math and reading proficiency. In addition, Kay found it valuable that Kumon instills self-reliance and problem solving skills using their critical thinking. She hopes to share the Kumon philosophy with many parents in the Northern Nevada communities.
Aside being a Kumon instructor, Kay serves as a treasurer of Nevada Public Education Foundation and is on the Board of High Desert Montessori Chartered School.
