Shammina Hussain, Owner and Director
I began with Kumon when my children enrolled in the Kumon program twenty years ago at a San Antonio Center. I watched my boys become resilient and independent, while studying above grade level which allowed them to have more free time to enjoy extracurricular activities.
Shammina Hussain possesses both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Accounting, credentials that have honed her analytical skills. Despite her education being rooted in business and finance, she discovered her passion for education and child development through her children's enrollment in Kumon. Two decades ago, Shammina's journey began not as an educator but as a parent. Observing Kumon's impact on her children, who became confident and self-motivated learners, altered her understanding of educational approaches and their value.
Experiencing Kumon's structured practice and roadmap to mastery firsthand, she was impressed by the development of resilience and independence, which strengthened her children's academic foundations. Motivated by this transformation, Shammina soon became a Kumon Instructor. At her center, she emphasizes that genuine achievement starts with independent thinking. She is dedicated to maintaining high academic standards while carefully tailoring instruction to suit each student's unique learning pace. Shammina is committed to fostering confidence and self-reliance in her students, equipping them for enduring success.
I was happy to take over the Plano - Prestonwood Center in early 2017. I am a proud pillar in the Plano community. I continue on my journey and in 2024 October, I took over the Southlake center.
I look forward to creating self-learners & confident individuals who will give back to the community in so many ways. I aim to bring out the best in each of my students. It is my hope that each of my students will gain a strong foundation in math and reading, gain confidence, and gain work skills that will follow them throughout life.
I can't wait to meet you and your child.
