About Your Instructor
Harjit Kaur
As a Kumon Instructor, I truly believe every child has the ability to succeed with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress.
I’m Harjit Kaur, a certified instructor with a bachelor’s degree in teaching, and I am based in Tappan, serving families across Rockland County and nearby Bergen County. I work closely with parents to understand each child’s unique needs, because I know that every child learns at their own pace.
I take great care in creating individualized study plans that help children build strong foundations in math and reading. More importantly, I focus on helping them develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning. Small daily successes add up, and I love seeing my students gain that “I can do it” mindset.
Communication with parents is very important to me. I make sure to regularly share progress, discuss any challenges, and celebrate each child’s achievements—big or small.
