About Your Instructor
XIAOZHAO NIEWENHOUS
Growing up in a family of teachers, my parents instilled in me the importance of education and lifelong learning. They taught me the values of personal responsibility, discipline, hard work, and self-reliance which has allowed me to have a rich and fulfilling life. I received an engineering undergraduate degree from a top university in China and I received my MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. I have diverse professional experience at well-known corporations in the areas of international marketing and financial management. Following a temporary family relocation to Europe for my husband’s company, I was able to become a full time Mom. During this time, I was deeply involved with the local community and with my children’s school. I realized my true passion was to work with kids.
My own children are enrolled in the math and reading programs at Kumon and it has been amazing to watch their growth. I want to help other children reach their full potential to be successful wherever their passion may lie. Having said that, I believe in a balanced approach to life and encourage my own children to develop strong friendships, participate in sports and other extracurricular activities. Similarly, in my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, theater and arts, and spending time outdoors at Texas State Parks!
