About Your Instructor
Emily Yost
I’ve been part of the Kumon community since 2006 and took over the Vernon Hills center in 2019. With nearly two decades of experience, I’ve seen how consistent support, encouragement, and the right learning environment can make a lasting impact on a student’s confidence and academic growth.
My role as a Kumon Instructor is to bring out the potential in each child. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides students through their work while providing the direction, support, and encouragement they need to grow. I create individualized study plans, monitor classroom assignments, and emphasize the importance of completing work accurately and within a set time frame. My goal is for each student to experience a sense of achievement in their daily study, helping them become more confident, self-reliant learners.
I work closely with parents and guardians, discussing their child's progress, challenges, and current curriculum to ensure we’re aligned in helping them succeed. I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help every child reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
As someone who grew up in this community and attended local schools, I’m proud to give back by supporting families and fellow small businesses in the area. Outside of Kumon, I enjoy reading, taking walks and spending time with family.
I look forward to being part of your child’s educational journey.
