About the Center

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Katy-Firethorne.

Kumon Katy-Firethorne is located at the intersection of FM 1463 and Spring Green Blvd. Since 2016, we have enjoyed the opportunity to assist numerous students in their academic careers. Our students stream from the local community and private schools. Here at Kumon Katy-Firethorne we take pride in promoting a positive working environment with a dedicated team that puts our students needs first.

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.


The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

Kumon Katy-Firethorne tuition is on a month-to-month basis.

The monthly tuition is $160 for a single subject and $310 for dual subjects. There is also a one-time registration fee of $80 and a materials fee of $50 for each new student. We also offer semi-annual and yearly payment options with incentives and discount prices.

Kumon Katy-Firethorne accepts monthly tuition payments via Credit Card/Debit Card, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), personal checks, and cash. Credit Cards and EFT payments are processed on the 28th day of each month.

Placement Test - FREE.
Monthly Tuition - $160 for a single subject and $310 for dual-subjects.
Registration Fee - $80 per student (A one-time fee as long as the student is enrolled continuously).
Materials Fee - $50 per student.

Personal checks and cash are due by the 20th day of each month. A deposit is required for all month-to-month payments in the amount of one month's tuition.

Any returned checks for non-sufficient funds from the bank will be assessed with a $35 insufficient funds fee due immediately. If the parent does not choose EFT/ACH as the payment method, an additional fee of $5 (single subject enrollment) or $10 (dual subject enrollment) will be charged each month.

If you select a semi-annual payment option, the registration fee is 1/2 off. For example; you would pay $40 instead of $80. If you select the annual payment option, the 13th month's tuition will be FREE. The tuition payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. NO EXCEPTIONS.

There is no minimum period of enrollment but we do require that an advance written notice (emails are permitted) be given within the first 3 days of the month (i.e., if you would like to stop enrollment at the end of July, written notice must be given no later than July 3rd, if you give notice on July 4th or later then August would be your last month at Kumon Katy-Firethorne). This applies to the following reasons as well (i.e., one month break, switching subjects, transferring to another center, and discontinuing the Kumon Program).

We do not have a multi-subject discount. Any absences of more than 30 days will require the student to pay the registration fee and materials fee again when the student resumes the program.

New students are enrolled on a month-to-month basis. Although a contract is not enforced at our center, the long-term commitment is highly recommended for each student to receive the full benefit from the Kumon Program. 


Please follow these four steps to enroll your child:

1) Call the center: 281-712-4181 to schedule a FREE placement test. Usually the placement test is held on the following days below:

Tuesday - 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Wednesday - 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Thursday - Please call directly to schedule.

Appointments usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. If you need to schedule an appointment outside of the above listed hours, please feel free to let us know when we speak over the phone. If you leave a voicemail we will return your call within 24-48 hours.

2) Attend the parent orientation (once your child completes the placement test(s)) to review your child's test results, discuss his/her Kumon starting point/lesson plan.

3) Submit your child's enrollment application and tuition payment.

4) We are ready to begin our Kumon journey together!

• Kumon of Katy-Firethorne is hiring for graders, and assistants. Responsibilities include grading student assignments, data entry/recording scores, prepping folders, and working with students Pre-K and up in math and reading. Candidates must be available Wednesdays 3:00-7:30PM and Saturdays 8:45AM-1:00PM (8-10 hours per week) and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with children.
