About Your Instructor
Julee Bhagwandeen
As a Kumon parent, I was able to experience how Kumon works and I wanted to share this experience with other parents who are looking for an option to help their children. I enrolled my son in Kumon in grade 6 to improve his math and reading skills. I immediately liked the program for providing worksheets which were structured and individually planned for my child’s progress. The consistent daily homework for practice also instilled daily study habits in him. After a couple of months or so, his mental calculation skills were greatly improved and his ability to read and follow instructions and examples became a part of his study habits. Now that he is a senior in high school, he has developed a sense of confidence and independence which he believes will help him succeed as he soon starts University.
In my daily work with my Kumon students, it gives me a great sense of satisfaction when I see them achieve their goals, whether to master the letter sounds, or learn how to do addition and subtraction with only their mental calculation skills, or to larger goals of studying ahead of their grade levels and become a completer of the program. Beyond tutoring, we aspire to work with our students to aspire far beyond their short-term academic goals.
I believe that education empowers individuals to become capable members of the society. With this in mind, I welcome as many children as possible to our Kumon Math and Reading Centre of North York of Jane and Shoreham. We are very excited to be a part of your child’s journey to success.
