About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Policies

  • Tuition can be paid with cash/check, credit/debit (there is an additional 2.5% charge), or automatic (automatic can be direct from account with no extra charge, or debit/credit with 2.75% extra charge).
  • Bounced checks will result in a $50 fee. After the second offense we will no longer accept checks, aside from cashier’s checks.
  • Tuition is due at the beginning of each month (first center day of the month). There is a 10% late fee after the SECOND FRIDAY of each month.
  • If you leave the waiting room, be sure that your child knows how to wait for you. We are not a daycare center. We will monitor your children as best we can, and try to ensure they do not leave unless it is safe for them to do so, but we cannot be responsible for any child who is in the waiting room or beyond.
  • When out in the waiting room, please be mindful of the students working and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Kumon of Pickerington has two scheduled options. Option one is a Monday & Thursday combination, where we are open from 3pm - 7pm. Option two is a Tuesday & Wednesday combination, where we are open 3pm - 6pm. Expect approximately 30 minutes per subject, and arrive with enough time before closing for students to work.
  • If a student is going to miss a center day, please let us know as soon as possible. If you would like your student’s work for the day, work can be picked up during center time or hung out on the window to be picked up at any time. Please let us know what you would like as soon as possible. If not specified otherwise, work will be reassigned for the next center day in most cases.
