Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Centre. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program.

Price and Fees:

There is a one-time $80 registration fee.
There is one-time $30 materials fee.
The tuition fees are $165 per month for Math and $165 per month for Reading per student.
The tuition fees are $185/month per subject for Early Learners (students who cannot work without assistance).

Welcome to Kumon of Sherwood Park – Millennium!

Thank you for your interest in the Kumon Method of Learning. I hope that the enclosed information will answer most of your questions. The company has been in existence for over 60 years and is the largest supplemental education company in the world, with over 4 million students in 48 countries throughout the world.

All students begin with a Free Placement Test to determine their starting point in the Kumon Curriculum. Once enrolled, our students work for 20-30 minutes per day at home and about 30 minutes (per subject) when they come to the Centre twice a week. They are given homework for non-class days. We start each student where they can have immediate success and take them step-by-step through the curriculum. The worksheets are designed to promote self-learning. The student’s work will be monitored to determine their progress and the need for more practice.

Classes are held year-round and you may join at any time. There are no contracts to sign, however, Kumon is not a “quick fix” and both you and your child need to make a commitment to the program to achieve the desired results. There is a one-time $80 registration fee and a one-time $30 materials fee. The tuition fees are $165 per month for Math, $165 per month for Reading, and $185/month per subject for Early Learners (first and last month’s tuition are due at registration).

I am a certified Kumon Instructor and have been extensively trained in the Kumon curriculum and method. This includes training at Kumon University in New Jersey, training in operating Kumon Centres, years of studying math and reading materials and on-going professional development. I am excited to apply for this training and to see new success stories coming from our Centre.

Kumon of Sherwood Park – Millennium is open for class Wednesday from 3:30pm-7:30 pm, Thursday from 3:30pm to 7:00pm, and on Saturday from 9:30am-1:00pm. To complete the enrolment process we need to schedule a Placement Test and later, a meeting to review the individualized results and Progress Goal.

Kumon is a real team effort. For the program to work, the Student, Parents and Instructor all have to work together. Please feel free to ask questions about any aspect of your child’s progress. During busy class days, I may ask if I can call you after class so I can focus on the children in the class and so that we can speak without interruption.
