Introduction

Welcome to KUMON MATH & READING CENTRE OF VANCOUVER - WESTSIDE, relocated here in February 2013!  Whether your child is seeking enrichment or is needing help catching up, the Kumon curriculum is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning. We are not a tutoring service; we strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own.

The Kumon curriculum is not based on the typical curriculum utilized in public or private schools; therefore our students advance through the program at their own pace.  Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant.  We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept.

The Kumon Math Program develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting (preschool/kindergarten levels) through calculus (university levels).  For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and vocabulary and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension (eg. internationally-renowned literature, as well as Shakespeare).  For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Policies

TUITION POLICIES

  • All new students are required to commit to the Kumon program for the first six consecutive months.
  • Monthly tuition fees are collected by Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP), which withdraws from your bank account on the first business day of each month; please provide a void cheque at the time of registration. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards, nor single-month post-dated cheques.
  • A service charge of $50.00 will be charged for any NSF transactions.
  • If you plan to take a break from Kumon (i.e. not paying for the month), we must be notified one full month in advance.
  • No refunds will be given for partial month of study.
  • Absence can be granted only one month per calendar year. If the student is absent for two months within a calendar year, he/she will be considered "discontinued". A new registration fee of $80.00 will be charged if and when the student resumes Kumon study.
