About Your Instructor
Shoma Sarker
My name is Shoma Sarker, and I am the Instructor for Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Whitby- Dundas & Brock. I hold a B.Sc. in Engineering and have had over 10 years of experience teaching mathematics. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and build confidence in math. My background in engineering has also given me a strong analytical foundation, which I bring into my teaching approach.
I chose to become a Kumon Instructor because I truly believe in the program’s philosophy of developing independent, self-motivated learners. Kumon is not just about academic, but it also helps students build discipline, focus, and perseverance. I have seen how consistent practice and the right guidance can transform a child’s attitude toward learning, and I want to be part of the positive impact in students’ lives.
When families join our Centre, they can expect a supportive, structured, and encouraging environment. Each child receives an individualized learning plan tailored to their current ability, allowing them to progress at their own pace. We focus on building strong fundamentals, fostering confidence, and maintaining open communication with parents. My goal is to help every student develop lifelong learning skills and reach their full potential.
I look forward to working with your family and supporting your child’s success.
