About Your Instructor
Farheen Hasan
Welcome! My name is Farheen, and I have been running two Kumon centres in Durham Region for the past 17 years.
Over the years, I have worked with thousands of students and families, and one thing that has never changed for me is seeing the moment when something finally clicks for a child. Even after all these years, that feeling never gets old.
At Kumon, we believe strong students are built one step at a time. We begin by making sure your child has a strong foundation and is confident with the basics before moving forward. Every child works at their own pace, building skills gradually and confidently, level by level.
The goal is not just for students to keep up in school. The goal is for them to feel confident walking into the classroom already understanding what is being taught. Over time, students develop independence, focus, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to tackle challenges on their own — skills that stay with them far beyond academics.
Classes are available 6 days a week, because flexibility matters for busy families. We track daily progress and send update text messages after every class, so you always know how your child is doing. We provide a supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners.
Along with 17 years of experience running Kumon centres, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from York University.
I care deeply about the students and families at my centres, and I take that responsibility seriously. I look forward to meeting your family and supporting your child throughout their academic journey.
