About the Center

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Cascade. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Price and Fees

Kumon is significantly less expensive than private tutors and "quick-fix" types of tutoring programs. Our mission is to bring the Kumon Method of Learning to as many students as possible, and therefore, we keep our pricing reasonable.

Monthly tuition is $150.00 per subject with a one-time registration fee of $80.00 and materials fee of $15.00. This covers class-time twice a week, our full curriculum, as well as the Kumon bag and homework supplies.

There is no charge for placement testing.

A detailed set of Kumon Center Policies is provided during the Parent Orientation. The basics, which Ms. Suzi applies to all enrolled families, include:

  1. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 2:30-7:30 pm.  Students may attend class two days per week and will need to sign up using our online scheduling system.

  2. Whether you are an athlete, musician or Kumon Math and Reading Student, daily practice is essential for success. Homework is assigned at each student's "just right" level, and should be completed, graded, timed and corrected daily.

  3. Successful progress in Kumon requires parents' active supervision of daily work. Setting the right study environment, providing positive encouragement, and regularly observing the student will maximize parents' return on investment.

  4. Regular communication between parents and the Instructor is expected. As at school, the top performing Kumon Students are supported by parents who routinely discuss their student's lesson plan, schedule and student-unique learning needs with the Instructor.

  5. The Kumon Math & Reading Center of Cascade uses a classroom approach for instruction. Student independence and self-learning are core principles of the Kumon Method of Learning which involves individualized study, not one-on-one tutoring.

  6. Policies pertaining to tuition payments, parent expectations, student behavior and other matters are provided during Orientation.
