About the Centre

Introduction

Welcome to Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Fort Saskatchewan!

For over six decades, Kumon's after-school academic enrichment program has been a global catalyst for children's success. Our mission is to ignite in children the passion for achievement and the intrinsic motivation to become independent learners. Whether your child seeks enrichment, needs to catch up, or is embarking on their academic journey, Kumon is tailored to nurture a profound love for learning.

Students progress through our program at their own pace. We prioritize personalized learning, fostering concentration, motivation, and self-reliance in each child. We carefully monitor each child's progress to ensure a solid grasp of each concept before moving on to the next. With a robust academic foundation, enhanced critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, your child possesses the potential to achieve any aspiration.

We firmly believe that a solid foundation is indispensable for achieving both academic and personal triumphs. Our mission is to offer the children within our local community the chance to cultivate and excel in fundamental Math and Reading skills, going beyond traditional tutoring. We aim to equip them with essential study and time management skills that are crucial for their future success in a rapidly evolving global economy.

In alignment with Kumon's mission to unlock the potential of each individual and maximize their abilities, we are dedicated to nurturing competent and capable individuals, ultimately making a positive contribution to the global community. With this vision, we are committed to offering personalized instruction to every student. Our approach emphasizes self-paced learning, enabling mastery of fundamental Math and Reading concepts. We firmly believe that this mastery is a cornerstone for future academic success, not only in high school but also beyond.

Policies

A detailed set of Kumon Centre policy is provided during the Orientation prior to enrollment.

Registration, Tuition Fees and Payment Policy

Tuition fees are scheduled for payment on the 25th of each month (or the next business day) for the subsequent month. The initial month's tuition fee is required upon enrollment. You have the option to make this payment, as well as the registration fee and materials fee, either by cheque, cash, or e-transfer.

Should you need to request a long-term absence or wish to discontinue the program, kindly provide us with a 30-day notice before the start of your final month by sending an email to us.

Student's schedule

We encourage students to attend the center twice a week at their scheduled times. If your child is efficiently completing their work, it's a positive indicator that they're prepared for additional challenges.

Continuous Learning

Kumon operates year-round, ensuring our center remains open all 12 months. We highly encourage consistent attendance, including during the summer, to facilitate accelerated progress beyond grade levels.

It's vital to recognize that Kumon is not a 'quick fix' program. For this reason, we suggest a minimum commitment of six months or more. Kumon transcends typical tutoring by placing strong emphasis on student independence and self-learning, fundamental principles of our individualized study approach.
