The Kumon Math and Reading Centre operates on a twelve month basis. We close for statutory holidays (Good Friday/Canada Day) and for winter (2 weeks at Christmas) and spring breaks (week of March break), but always assign work until the class re-opens. For best results, students should expect to remain in the program for at least 3 years and should always include summer study in their plans. For those students on holiday, the program is portable and homework packages may easily be taken on vacation, with pre-arranging. Regular tuition rates apply.
In all instances, a minimum of 30(thirty) days' written notice, received no later than the first of the month before an absence, and using the form provided from Kumon is required. If notice is received late the full tuition fee for the following month is payable. If you need to give written notice, please ask for a copy of the Notice of Absence form. Absent students will be required to pay a re-registration fee if absent more than one month in a calendar year, January to December, and will be subject to new rates at the time of re-registration (otherwise loyalty program means you continue to pay the same rates for however many years your children are enrolled). Minimum registration is for 3 months, as it is a long term commitment program.
There will be a $15 charge for all unsuccessful bank debits. All answer books and library books must be promptly returned.
The monthly tuition includes the complete program of materials (with daily homework). Single subject students attend class in person or online for either one weekly 30 minute class or two 30 minute sessions per week, while students studying both math and reading attend once or twice a week in person or online for 60 minutes per session. Tuition rate is the same per subject regardless of whether students attend once or twice a week.
