About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to Kumon Math and Reading Center of Metairie. Our center is located at the intersection of Division and Veterans--a block behind the Barnes and Noble book store.

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Kumon helps children understand and master concepts so they’re confident learning new material.  We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. The worksheets provide examples that demonstrate how to solve each type of problem, empowering your child to self-learn new concepts.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated, and self-reliant. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

Before you enroll your child, schedule an orientation so we can answer all your questions and ensure that the Kumon Method is the best fit for your child’s needs.  At the same time as your orientation, your child will take an assessment at no cost to you.  These results help us determine the perfect starting point that works best for your child.  Your child may begin with worksheets that address already well-understood topics and lessons.  This ensures a solid grasp on earlier fundamental learning before moving forward.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. Learn more information about the Kumon Math Program.
