About Your Instructor

Kevin McQuarrie

My name is Kevin McQuarrie, and I am the proud Instructor of the Pickering - Kingston & Rougemount Centre.

Ever since I was young, the concept of academic development has always run in my blood. My mother and father - a Math teacher and a Safety Instructor, respectively - had always taught me the value of putting the needs of others before my own, and therefore I have always loved helping others to learn and be their best selves.

I had envisioned myself becoming a high school teacher one day, specifically to teach Mathematics, Biology, or Chemistry. While looking to build my resume, I began working in a local Kumon centre, which I simply thought was a standard tutoring program. It turned out to be far more than that, and once I started studying how the Kumon Program worked, I developed a true passion for it. After several years of becoming more and more engrossed in it, I decided to pursue the Kumon Franchise as my own career path. Everyone had always advised me to pursue my passion, and so I did just that!

I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, with a minor in Psychology as well. Immediately after graduating, I began my training at the Kumon North American headquarters in Teaneck, NJ, and became the Instructor for our Kumon Centre in February 2016.

I spend my free time with my amazing wife, Emma, and our three beautiful children: Jade, Mason, and Lincoln. My family is the light of my life.

How Does the Assessment Work?

Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so we can recommend the best starting point. During the assessment, your child will complete a placement test, and the instructor will review the results with you and explain how the Kumon Program can support your child’s individual learning needs.

There is no obligation to enroll, and you can reschedule your appointment at any time.
