About Your Instructor

Rajani Suryanarayan

Hi! I’m Rajani, the Center Director at Kumon of Pleasanton East. I have proudly served as our center's instructor since 2019.

Before Kumon, I spent over a decade in pharmaceuticals working on drug discovery and data analysis. I hold a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics from UC Davis and a Master's Degree in Healthcare. While my corporate career was rewarding, I wanted a role that allowed me to work directly with children and help them build strong academic foundations early on.

My goal is to instill not just academic skills, but a lifelong love of learning. Seeing a student master a new concept—whether it's letter sounds or long division—is the most rewarding part of my day.

Fun Facts About Me:

I grew up in Zambia from ages 6 to 11 for my father’s job.

I love to bake and have baked all of my children's birthday cakes since Kindergarten!

My favorite Kumon Math level is Level E (fractions).

How Does the Assessment Work?

Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so we can recommend the best starting point. During the assessment, your child will complete a placement test, and the instructor will review the results with you and explain how the Kumon Program can support your child’s individual learning needs.

There is no obligation to enroll, and you can reschedule your appointment at any time.
