About the Centre

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Regina- Rochdale! We are located in the 5950 Rochdale Blvd. Unit #4, Regina, Saskatchewan (opposite to the KFC, YMCA and RPL).

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Policies

CENTRE HEALTH & SAFETY AND STUDENT HYGIENE: We have enacted several steps to ensure that the Centre is a clean and hygienic environment. We ask that you support our efforts by following the Health Canada guidelines regarding student hygiene. Please remember that these protocols are meant to protect all students, staff, and families at the Centre. Please review the Centre Health & Safety Policy for COVID-19 before returning to the Centre.

STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP: Please ensure that your child arrives on time as scheduled. Please be available to pick up your child within 30 minutes of drop off if enrolled in 1 subject and within 1 hour for 2 subjects. PLEASE NOTE: In addition to revised center hours, we will be strictly enforcing student scheduling to limit the number of students simultaneously attending class. All students should arrive promptly at their scheduled time and should not remain at the Centre past their scheduled time slot. There will be no parent sitting area at our Centre due to COVID-19.

HOME MARKING: Home marking is a must for Parents. Home marking is encouraged as studies have shown that the less time that passes between the time a student makes a mistake and the time that student corrects the mistake, the more learning occurs. We will provide the Answer book to you. After your child completes his/her homework, mark it using a red pen and an answer book provided by the Centre. This way you know exactly how your child is doing each day and it sends an important message to your child that you are his/her learning partner.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: We require a minimum of one full calendar month’s (30 days) written notice for withdrawal from the program. This is a monthly program that starts from the 1st of the Month. For any cancellation, please remember that we ask for a full month's notice, e.g. to cancel on the 1st of February we need to know before January 1st, (not 2nd, not 3rd). To cancel in March, we need to know before February 1st and so on (like rent). We must prepare and plan, so please respect our work and dedication to our students. No phone calls or text messages will be accepted for cancellation of this program. An advanced deposit for last month’s tuition fee is subject to a refund. Fill out the withdrawal/termination form and send it to us to get the advanced deposit adjusted to the last month. If you fulfill the withdrawal policy, then this advanced deposit will be adjusted to the last month’s tuition fee for the program.
