About Your Instructor
Man Hing (Renee) Cheung
Hello, my name is Renee Cheung, and I am the Instructor at Kumon Bayview and Weldrick. As a mother of three, I’ve experienced firsthand how the Kumon Method helps children build strong academic foundations and develop lifelong self-learning skills. My own children began Kumon at age five, and the independence, discipline, and confidence they gained have supported them throughout their school years and beyond.
Both as a parent and an instructor, I have come to truly believe in Kumon’s educational approach and the long-term benefits it provides—especially in preparing students for the academic and emotional demands of high school and university. This belief is what inspired me to open my own Kumon Centre, where children are supported academically and genuinely cared for as individuals.
Using the Kumon Method, I tailor each student’s work to a just-right level, ensuring they make steady progress while strengthening their focus, accuracy, and perseverance. I emphasize the proper study approach, helping students work independently, neatly, and confidently. During class, I observe each child’s study habits, readiness, and problem-solving strategies so they feel capable, encouraged, and understood.
I am especially mindful of students who may be feeling stressed, facing social pressures, or navigating confidence challenges. At my Centre, students are welcomed into a calm and supportive environment where patience is practiced, effort is valued, and progress—big or small—is celebrated at each child’s own pace.
I also value open communication with parents. I believe that a strong partnership between home and the Centre plays a key role in helping children grow academically while building lifelong learning habits.
My work is guided by my living mission: to be a light for others, carry goodness in my heart, stay rooted in faith, trust in inner strength, and make a positive impact through the way I live, teach, and care for the children in my community.
If you’d like to learn more about how the Kumon Program can support your child, I warmly invite you to reach out or visit our Centre. I would be happy to meet you and explore how we can help your child thrive.
