Our mission is to instill a love of learning and foster the motivation for children to learn independently. Whether your child seeks academic enrichment, needs support to catch up, or is just beginning their educational journey, Kumon is designed to help them thrive.

Why Kumon?

Students progress through the program at their own pace. Through individualized learning, we help each child develop focus, motivation, and self-reliance. Our instructors carefully monitor progress, ensuring comprehension before moving on to more advanced concepts. With a solid academic foundation and enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, your child will be equipped to achieve their goals and dreams.

1. Commitment to the Program

  • I acknowledge that Kumon is a long-term educational strategy, not an immediate solution. It may take 9 to 18 months for a typical student to achieve grade-level proficiency.
  • My objective is to maintain my child’s enrollment until they become a Kumon Program Completer, enabling them to experience the full benefits of the program.
  • A minimum enrollment period of 12 months is required. Early withdrawal will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.

2. Withdrawal and Deposit Policy

  • If we choose to discontinue, I will provide 30 days’ written notice to apply the deposit to the last month’s tuition.
  • Notices given at any point in the month will result in full tuition being charged for the following month. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. Attendance Requirements

  • My child must attend classes twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The duration of each session depends on the time required to complete assignments.
  • I am responsible for ensuring my child’s punctual arrival and departure.
  • If my child is unable to attend, I will notify the instructor in advance and arrange for the submission of completed work and collection of new assignments.

4. Responsibility and Liability

  • The Kumon Center is not responsible for ensuring my child’s presence on its premises.
  • Parents/guardians are liable for any harm or damage caused by their child to others and agree to release Kumon North America, Inc., Kumon of Richmond - Libbie, and its officers and instructors from any liability.
  • I agree to defend and indemnify these parties. Instructors are not liable for any incidents involving students outside the center’s premises before entry or after departure.

5. Learning Materials

  • I am responsible for returning all borrowed learning materials (e.g., answer keys, solution manuals, RRL books, CDs, flashcards) in good condition. A fee of $20 per item will be charged for unreturned or damaged materials.
