About Your Instructor
Alan Fountain
Welcome
Hello! My name is Alan Founatain, and I am the Center Instructor at Kumon of Woodstock Northeast. I look forward to supporting your children on their learning journey and building a strong partnership with each of you.
A Bit About Me
My journey has been rooted in a lifelong love for learning. I hold four degrees and consider myself a true lifelong learner – and I am currently pursuing a certification in Artificial Intelligence, because I believe that staying curious and growing alongside the world is one of the most important things we can model for our children.
My professional background in Human Resources (Compensation) provides me with a solid foundation in understanding what motivates people and creates environments where they can thrive. That foundation translates directly into my role at Kumon, where motivating, encouraging, and supporting each child is the heart of everything we do. I have also had the joy of tutoring children in both French and Latin-experiences that deepened my belief that every child is capable of remarkable things when given the right support and tools.
My Vision for Our Center
“To help every child reach his or her full potential by becoming an independent, confident, self-learner.”
Education has always been the cornerstone of my life, and the lens through which I approach everything I do. When children develop skills and self-belief to tackle challenges on their own, they carry that strength with them for the rest of their lives.
Kumon’s proven approach - building strong academic foundations, discipline, and self-learning skills - aligns perfectly with my vision. I am committed to creating a warm, encouraging environment where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
