About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Job Opportunities

Data entry and Office Task

  • Immediate part-time job opportunities as a Kumon Grader Assistant.

    Qualifications

    1) Patient, able to multi-task, and able to work with children

    2) Responsible and punctual

    3) Able to work 2 or 3 times a week on Tuesday/Wednesday/ and Thursday afternoons from 3:30 pm-6:30 pm.

    4) Able to learn quickly and assist center management with prepping student folders.


    The new hire will be trained for the tasks and will be expected to work with children ages 4-6 years old. 


    Benefits

    The position pays between $13-$15 per hour based on the prior experiences.




Main Classroom Assistant

  • Currently, the center has a need for a person who is passionate about helping students learn the foundational knowledge and skills needed for future academic success.


    Responsibilities

    Ensuring that all students are mastering the level aims of the curriculum by reinforcing lessons presented by the Instructor.

    Help Instructor with data entry, grading, preparation of student files and other administrative tasks.

    Provide thoughtful feedback about student performance to Instructor.

    Assist in preparation of student events, such as annual award ceremony, goal-setting, and parent conferences.



    Education


    Minimum high school diploma or current high school students taking Advance Placement courses (college experience with Early Education courses a plus)

    Qualifications

    Patience to work with children (pre-K through 12th grade) while they develop the skills to focus and complete their work;

    Strong knowledge in basic Math and Reading concepts;

    Able to commit to scheduled shifts, must be reliable and punctual;

    Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both adults and children, must be respectful and polite

    Prior Kumon experience (as a student or employee) a plus!
