About Your Instructor

Shannon Lucero

A passion for learning and education began early, inspired by a family of educators and a love for working with children. After more than a year as an elementary teacher in Calgary, the focus shifted to supplemental education, working as a tutor and later advancing into an educational leadership role.

The Kumon journey began in 2013 as the Instructor of a corporately owned centre, where firsthand experience with more than 300 students fostered a deep appreciation for the Kumon method and philosophy. In 2016, this experience led to a role with the regional office as a Field Consultant, supporting 20 franchisees across Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon in developing successful independent centres.

Now, as Instructor of Canada’s Virtual Kumon Centre, there is great excitement in helping even more students succeed through online learning and the gift of Kumon.

How Does the Assessment Work?

Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so we can recommend the best starting point. During the assessment, your child will complete a placement test, and the instructor will review the results with you and explain how the Kumon Program can support your child’s individual learning needs.

There is no obligation to enroll, and you can reschedule your appointment at any time.
