Kumon Celebrates 25th Year Servicing the Chicago Area

More than 50,000 Local Children Have Benefited from the Kumon Method of Learning

Oakbrook Terrace, IL (June 10, 2015) – On June 17, 2015, the Chicago Branch office of Kumon North America will celebrate its 25th year supporting the growth of more than 100 Kumon Math and Reading Centers throughout the region. Nearly 50 Kumon Instructors from the Chicago area are expected to gather at the Kumon of Willowbrook Center from 12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m for the celebration. Franchise owners who were with Kumon since it first established its presence in the community will share a few words with staff and fellow franchisees at the event.

“Kumon has experienced tremendous growth over the past 25 years,” says Denise Cziraky, Chicago branch manager for Kumon North America. “We plan to increase our center openings by 10 percent throughout our branch territory in the next year and a half.” The Chicago Branch is currently responsible for more than 100 Kumon Centers in the area.

Based in Oakbrook Terrace since 2005, the office supports the franchise operations of Kumon Centers throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. As a leader in supplemental education, Kumon Centers in these areas currently provide more than 19,000 local children in preschool through high school with skills needed to excel inside and outside of the classroom.

The Chicago Branch originally supported most of Kumon North America’s Midwest operations, which included: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois. Since then, the company has had a nationwide growth of more than 70 percent, with 872 learning centers in 1995 and almost 1,500 today.
