Even more opportunities
to learn with
During virtual classes, students complete their Kumon worksheets at home while under the observation of Center staff through a videoconferencing platform. Similar to our physical classroom, the purpose of our virtual classes is to observe students while working, give guidance or assistance when needed, share feedback on work, and provide the structure and motivation for successful progress.
CHOOSING VIRTUAL CLASSES MEANS:
- Convenience and flexibility to fit your schedule
- Easy access to the same proven Kumon Method
- Your child can study from home
SEAMLESS PROGRESS IN PERSON OR ONLINE
|Development of Self-Learning
|Observation of Your Child
Students study approximately 30 minutes per subject every day and attend class 2 times per week, either in person at the Center or by attending one of our virtual classes via videoconference.
*Not all Kumon Centers are currently offering in-center classes. Please check with your local center for details.
IT’S SELF-LEARNING, NOT TUTORING
“The goal of the Kumon Method is, above all, to teach students to learn independently.”
One thing you’ll notice is that in the Virtual Classroom, the camera will most often be pointed at your child’s worksheet. Unlike tutoring, where a teacher is giving information to the student, your child’s Instructor is observing how they complete their work in order to provide specific guidance. The goal of the Kumon Method is, above all, to teach students to learn independently.
OBSERVING YOUR CHILD COMPLETE THEIR WORK WILL:
- Help the Instructor guide them to take ownership of their learning
- Allow the Instructor to individualize and fine-tune their lesson plan
“We enrolled our 6-year-old twins in Kumon just before the Covid-19 pandemic. We weren’t sure how helpful the virtual sessions were going to be, but the Kumon Instructor knows what they are doing and both my kids are reading books and doing math problems in just 2 months. The program has helped build confidence, excitement and discipline my kids needed to get them started in the right direction.”
- Dhruva P. from Gainsville, Florida
"Kumon has been present in my family for after school learning for many years. Both of my children experienced this program. During these unprecedented times with COVID, virtual classes worked well for my Kindergartener. The program did not miss a beat and the learning continued seamlessly. I would certainly recommend Kumon for supplemental learning for both Math and Reading."
- Nayon, L. from Tempe, Arizona
"My son has been going to Kumon for a long time now and I am really happy with his progress. In the beginning of grade 1 he started doing basic addition and now he can do division complex for his age. I would definitely like to mention that during these unprecedented times of pandemic, Kumon helped us transition to online learning so well and my son did not miss even a single assignment."
- Shivangi, S. from East Rutherford, New Jersey
"I have seen my son’s reading and math skills advance. Kumon has put in a lot of efforts during this pandemic to help their students through virtual classes.”
- Poornima, S. from Naperville, Illinois
