From Student to Young Author: Pallavi’s Journey of Confidence and Achievement with Kumon
When Pallavi’s parents enrolled her in the Kumon Math program four and a half years ago and the
Kumon Reading program three years ago, they were looking to enhance her skills in both areas. Now
a sixth grader, Pallavi has transformed into a confident and accomplished young individual, thanks
to her Kumon journey
Classroom Excellence
Kumon has significantly boosted Pallavi’s academic performance. In math, she works diligently and
excels in complex problem-solving. The reading program enhanced her vocabulary, positively
impacting her reading habits and comprehension skills. Pallavi’s confidence has skyrocketed,
which is evident in her performance both in and outside of the classroom.
Achievements Beyond the Classroom
Outside the classroom, Kumon has had a hand in Pallavi’s personal growth. The confidence she
gained within Kumon inspired her to become an author at just ten years old. With two published
books, “The Friend-Coaster” and “An Elf’s Journal”, (available on Amazon) and a third in progress,
Pallavi’s passion for reading and writing is apparent. Her time management skills, improved through
Kumon, have allowed her to balance her studies and a range of extracurricular activities.
Pallavi has been actively involved in cartooning, chess, tennis, and playing the clarinet in the school
band for the past three years. She also started learning the keyboard six months ago. Her artistic
talents have been showcased at the Nashua Public Library, and she runs a YouTube channel where
she shares videos about the books she reads and the places she visits.
Honors and Awards
Pallavi’s dedication has earned her numerous accolades. In second grade, she was awarded the
top reader title at her school in the Nashua Mayor’s Winter Reading Challenge. Her artwork has
been recognized twice in the Nashua School District Youth Art Month, and she won an award in the
Pennichuck Water Works Poster Contest. Additionally, her short video was a winner at the Nashua
Public Library’s Tiny Film Festival.
Academic and Personal Growth
Kumon has not only helped Pallavi academically but also in her daily life. The reading program
improved her grammar and vocabulary, sparking a love for reading. And the math program
enhanced her problem-solving speed significantly. Pallavi proudly achieved the Kumon awards G by
4 and J by 6 in math. Achieving J by 6 means she was doing high school-level math before the end of
grade six. These milestones reflect her hard work and consistency.
Future Aspirations
Pallavi aspires to become an aerospace engineer, a dream fueled by her academic achievements
and creative pursuits. She advises new Kumon students to practice diligently, stay focused, and be
consistent.
Pallavi’s experience with Kumon demonstrates how the program can empower individuals to
become confident, skilled, and versatile, prepared to pursue their dreams
