Gaurav, 11-years old, Math Level J, Reading Level HI
Mark Zuckerberg is the iconic internet entrepreneur who Co-founded Facebook. He is also Gaurav’s inspiration. Gaurav aspires to also be a brilliant entrepreneur and create a very successful business of his own one day. Remember his name because whatever Gaurav dreams of, he goes out there and chases it.
This 11-year-old is booming inside and outside of the classroom. Some of his favorite activities include playing soccer and tennis and practicing the piano and clarinet. However, Gaurav is also very dedicated to his academics. He’s been part of the Continental Math League for three years and is advanced in all his classes and Kumon Levels.
“Kumon has instilled a work habit in me that I know will help me throughout high school, college, and the rest of my life,” says Gaurav.
No matter how difficult things get, Gaurav is ready to conquer any obstacle. The tougher challenges get, the wiser and stronger he becomes.
Gaurav was one of the 56 students selected to attend our 3rd Annual Student Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
“When I found out that I was selected to attend the Student Conference, I was really excited because I tried really hard to get chosen,” says Gaurav.
His motivation and passion is contagious. We look forward to seeing Gaurav achieve all his goals as a rising entrepreneur.
What do you enjoy most about Kumon?
One of the things that I enjoy most about Kumon is that it constantly teaches me new things and that it really challenges me.
If you could sum up your Kumon experience in one word, what would it be?
How has Kumon helped you outside of the classroom?
As I have advanced through Kumon, I have realized that the levels get progressively harder, and that I needed to keep consistent and organized study habits in order to progress along with the curriculum. I know that I can face any challenge if I am determined.
What do you feel most proud of about yourself?
I feel being able to do well in school is what I am most proud of. Doing well in school is not just about the grades, but also about the help I can give the kids in my class since I might already know what we are learning.
I am very proud that I can excel in studies because Kumon has helped stay ahead of what my class is doing. I’m also proud to be able to do 3D designing and robotics with my friend because it is something that is both fun and engaging.
What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is the Maze Runner. It is my favorite book because it has a lot of action and cliffhangers. It is very interesting, and it has a lot of suspense. The book is so real to me that I can imagine myself in it. This book is so great that I have read multiple times.
