TEANECK, NJ (November 5th, 2013) – Kumon North America donates nearly $60,000 to sponsor 23 Kumon Associates running in the 2013 NYC Marathon on behalf of Team for Kids on Sunday, November 3rd. The donation will fund running programs for underprivileged children. Kumon believes in supporting organizations that share the mission of discovering the potential of each child, and thereby fostering capable people who contribute to the community.
Kumon CFO, Joe Nativo, believes in providing a better future for our youth. “We’re donating this amount of money to the Team for Kids charity because we, as a company, feel that children are our number one priority. Partnering with an organization that connects with Kumon on so many levels is worth every penny,” said Nativo.
“NYRR Youth Programs depends on the generosity and determination of all of our Team for Kids runners to raise vital funds for free and low-cost running opportunities for youth. Kumon’s decision to partner with Team for Kids for the 2013 ING New York City Marathon has enabled us to reach thousands of kids already this school year. We are so grateful for their generous support and look forward to sharing the gift of running with more kids than ever this year,” said Michael Rodgers, NYRR Vice President of Development and Philanthropy
