Independence and Confidence are the Key to this Future Engineer’s Motivation
Shrishant, 12-years-old, Math Level M & Reading Program Completer
12-year-old Shrishant is prepared to take on any challenge that is thrown his way. Whether he’s competing in a school spelling bee, entering a creative writing contest, or even participating in a speech competition, Shrishant always remains confident. He is dedicated to give it his all, no matter the challenge.
Confidence and independence have fueled Shrishant’s motivation beyond the classroom. He credits Kumon for paving his path to success.
“Kumon has helped me beyond academics by boosting my confidence in just about anything I do,” said Shrishant. “The ability to study independently allows me to be proactive and assists me in the pursuit of my goals.”
Shrishant aspires to become a mechanical engineer. To prepare for his future in engineering, he competes on a team in the FIRST Lego League Robotics Challenge (FLL).
The FLL empowers bright students to research real-world issues and develop solutions. The solutions developed by teams include basic STEM applications, critical thinking, presentation skills, and creativity. In 2017, Shrishant and his team won the regional competition, and they continue to take pride in their creations.
Shrishant’s accomplishments don’t stop there. He was one of 56 students selected for Kumon’s 3rd Annual Student Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
“I was overjoyed and proud of myself when I found out I was selected,” said Shrishant. “The Student Conference was very inspirational, and my favorite part was listening to former Kumon Students.”
Shrishant and the rest of the attendees had the opportunity to learn from each other through educational activities designed to foster team building, group discussion, critical thinking and creativity.
He shares highlights from his Kumon journey and reveals who his inspiration is.
